My other car is a Cavalier 2.0 8V 140K miles.

I recently added some ASTA3000 and believe it or not it does what it says on the tin. It contains two fuel treatments, one to dissolve dampness in the tank and the other to clean the fuel system, injectors etc. The third bottle is added to the oil and claims to clean carbon deposits and add a fricton reducer.

The most noticable difference has been with increased engine response. It starts easier and over the last 200 miles is returning better mpg. Only a 2 to 3 mpg increase, need to test this over a longer period.

Has anyone tried fuel / engine additives in a Chim???

In the case of Oil additives, I'm highly sceptical. Mobil, Castrol et al have huge research budgets devoted to optimising the performance of their oils. Why should an additive company be able to improve on this?

Fair point. I'd also wonder if there are any long term problems to pay for the apparent benefits?

I too am sceptical that's why I've only tried the stuff in my Cavalier. Just wondered if anyone else has used similar in a Chim.

Brian, good to see you've got your car back. I once tried putting some redex in....not convinced it made a lot of difference.

And then they produce the most cost effective gunk they can get away with

Why shouldn't they? The oil companies almost certainly can.
