Yesterday evening, in a village near Norwich I saw, on the road, something that looked a lot like a DB4 Zagato. I only saw it fleetingly and it was dark but it certainly looked "period" - taller and narrower than you'd think, with tall narrow wheels and tyres and "comforting glow" (dim) lights. Reg began "DB04". Anyone know of out was a real one?

So it was new in 2004, at the oldest...

Good point...

Though I could have misread it. If it is a replica / recreation then it is much better than most in terms of having an accurate "feel" (most "replicas" in general seem to be too low and wide to my eyes).

That's assuming it's DB04 (XXX).

Could be DBO 4(99), pre-suffix plate, I s'pose.

The Sanction 2 cars were 1991 - so could be a prefix D804 (XXX) or suffix DBO 4(99X)?

If I was forced to guess I would say it was a 6 digit plate.

Could it have been an Evanta GT? Glimpsed in the dark it could appear a convincing lookalike, and they sometimes wear new car registrations, such as the different example below:

It's not unknown for replicas to be built on an original DBS chassis frown

Was the DBS based on a chassis?

Sounds like a way of illegally dodging the IVA testing in any case.

I would say it was definitely old. If you told me it
was a replica using Jag 120 or Triumph TR chassis i'd believe you. Suppose I'll never know.
