Your games of 2016
Discussion
Let's have them. Doesn't have to be a 2016 release - just whatever you've been playing and appreciating this year.
In no particular order, mine are:
1) Doom (2016): A triumphant return to the Doom series; fast-paced, brutal soundtrack and great mechanics. Gameplay started to get repetitive after a while but it was still a brilliant game.
2) Deus Ex Mankind Divided: Faithful to the series and packed full of detail and multi-approach missions. Story and game length were a bit lacking, but it still allowed me to break into people's apartments, ransack their safes and hack their computers which is all I want from a Deus Ex game.
3) Deus Ex Revision: An overhaul of the original game available through Steam; I gushed about it here
4) Everyone has gone to the Rapture: A marmite 'game' I know, but I loved it, particularly for Jessica Curry's hauntingly beautiful score/OST.
5) Pinout (iOS): 80's inspired pin-ball game from Mediocre AB. Technically endless, beautiful visuals and, the best part, an electro-synth-wave soundtrack from Douglas Holmquist which is so amazing I've had it on hard rotation after buying the whole OST off iTunes.

Really poor year.....
Firewatch was interesting enough, although I didn't enjoy the ending.
Uncharted 4 great end to a fantastic series.
The long dark although rumbling along as a beta for 2 years+ still the best game in the survival genre. Keep going back.
I think dishonored 2 is great. But keep getting stuck and rage quitting. Hate the clockwork soldiers!
PES 2017 is the best incarnation in a long time and is my go to for a quick game.

However, my go to game remains Destiny.
The same. Destiny continues to have me hooked. The changes made this year really improved the game. I don't have huge chunks of time to spend gaming so the fact I can dip in to a half hour strike or crucible match fits my life perfectly. Got Titanfall 2 and Doom for Christmas and very much looking forward to playing them.
It's all about racing games for me:
1: Project Cars (many hours of my life finding those last few tenths)
2: Assetto Corsa (sublime to drive but lacks a decent career mode)
3: F1 2016 Not played as much as I would have expected because of my Project Cars addiction but massive improvement over the previous iteration, much needed imo)
4: Euro Truck Simulator 2 (chill and have a beer, deliver some tractors, nuff said)
5: American Truck Simulator (as above 10:4 good buddy)
I keep popping back onto Live for Speed, but it feels really dated now. I also got Automobilista this year on the back of rave reviews, but I can't get it to work, I can't turn off steering and braking assist even though it's off in the options.

Once I get my arse into gear and get back on Dishonored 2, that will be up there. I know they're not "new" games for 2016 but Destiny had a strong year, as did World of Tanks.
Hmm... I've never really rated Destiny
I also really enjoyed...Um...Super time force, except it's hard.
Getting into Diablo 3 and I finally understand why people keep comparing Destiny and Diablo...
