Anyone know what trans is in a '90 C-2? If not Tiptronic, will that work in a GTR?

Hi Scott:

I think it would be a G50. I'm pretty sure mine came from a 90 C2 and it's a G50-03. I'm sure someone here can tell you for sure......try Ike from Canada as he's a Porsche man.

Should be OK. Like Brad says I'd expect that to be a G50/03 which is a reasonable box...doesn't seem to be much chance of coming with an LSD at least in the UK.

Brad, Dave thanks. I will email Ike as well.

So, if it's a G50/03, I have a Quaife LSD that I picked up. It's a factory rebuilt unit purchased directly from Quaife USA in southern California for USD$800. Should fit, I guess. (my first Ultima part!)

I think the ratios for a /03 are:

R&P -- 3.444
1st -- 0.286
2nd -- 0.486
3rd -- 0.711
4th -- 0.921
5th -- 1.152

This setup should put the top end at 200 mph and 7760 rpm...big revs to hit the 200 mark. But, I think the lower range is more useful on the street and the track. First gear would pull to about 47.
