Fairly comprehensive thread about it on PPrune; chronic and acute fatigue has been causing death and destruction on ships since Og hollowed out the first log so it's both unsurprising and depressing that the same crap goes on in the air as well.

It makes you wonder how pressed the Air Arabia and FlyDubai low cost airline pilots are over there. Probably a lot worse.

Did tiredness take a part? Will be interesting to find out. I have several beefs about modern day low cost flying.

1. Using the system to get pilots flying when there is a shortage of pilots in general.
2. Over using those pilots.
3. Pressure on financials which may effect the maintenance of the aircraft.

If low cost airlines are pushing the pilots how much are they scrimping on getting the planes airworthy? A while back nobody would imagine horse meat might be in your burger. Is cost cutting endemic to the detriment of safety in 2017?

Perhaps you can't complain if you only paid £20 as you plummet to earth.
