The market seems all over the place. Almost £10k between seemingly identical cars and no difference in price between a main dealer offering 2 years warrenty and a indie offering an empty box of goodwill. With no Disco 5 on the cards until Spring and the 3.0 HSE commading just shy of £60k it's difficult to know where to dip your toe into the Disco 4 used market.

2014MY facelift HSE feels like I want to be paying ~£35k and indeed examples have come and gone at the price point (too far away, too slow off the mark) but at £40k you could be in a 13 plate or a 65 plate, there seems no logic.

I think those who purchased a new late model could be onto a winner, but that ship has now sailed.

Has this always been the LR/Disco market or are we seeing the Disco 5 effect?

I bought a LR approved June MY15 HSE 10k miles taxed and a full tank in October cost me 42k on the nose. I have followed prices since and they do seem to vary a bit. But it does seem that the LR purists did not accept the ne D5 and are now buying D4s as new as they can get.

There a few new del Graphites at 46k and a few Landmarks just a tad north of 50k Guy Salmon was one dealer, but it was stated on the Disco forum these are selling fast

Recently I was looking to get a used Disco4 and was amazed at the combination of high price and high mileage. I was looking to pay no more that £35,000. After a searching consistently but with no success I realised that these cars are seeming to hold their price. I even enlisted the assistance of a LR main dealer who also found nothing. I have bought a Disco Sport for under £34,000 with the age and mileage that I wanted.

I bought a 15 month old HSE Lux in May for £41k and they're still selling for exactly the same price. I genuinely don't think the D5 will affect the value much as there's such a step up in cost for the new model so just find a good value facelift model and get it bought! Maybe the MY16 with the AdBlue is the one to have?

At 53K for a base 2.0 it's bloody expensive, the whole point of the Disco was it could tow up to 2 and half ton with ease, to get the equivalent with a 3.0 SDV6 it's going to be 56k, there will be a lot of buyers looking elsewhere.
