Morning everyone,

Sorry for the boring topic but I'm just after a simple, good quality Freeview Plus HD box to replace our dating/dying Humax non-HD one.

I've been looking online at reviews etc. but all the current ones seem to be 'smart' boxes for catch up or on demand services. I don't want any of that as a) the box is too far from the router making ethernet connection impossible and b) my TV does all that on demand stuff anyway.

So does anyone have any good recommendations, based on experience or knowledge, for a simple reliable Freeview+ HD box?

Many thanks.

Stick with Humax, look at the refurbed ones to save a few £ https://www.humaxdirect.co.uk/refurbished.html

Most come with 'smart' features, you don't have to use them.

Mentioned them a few times but really rate the Youview boxes. You can now get UHD ones (DTR-T4000) but the basic HD one is the DTR-T2100.

Available cheaply on eBay.

If you did want to use the smart features (which are delivered very well on Youview IMO) then a pair of powerline adapters will get you the connectivity.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I've ordered a refurbed Humax. Seems to have good reviews and does what we need. :-)

I bought a couple of the refurbed Humax Youview boxes a couple of years ago, been good as gold, like new.
