Cayenne service confusion

2011 Cayenne 3.0d

It's only been 14,000 miles and approx 12 months since last service (major) but it's telling me "1000 miles to oil change". I thought the Cayenne 3.0d was 20,000 miles or 2yrs service intervals?

When I asked the OPC I was told it was variable and "up to 20k between services" depending on the type of driving. Nearly 100% of mine is motorway so they said the car should report 20k. Weirdly the oil and interim service notification has always had a difference of about 1k miles but I always take it in on the lower figure.

Service indicator says 6000 miles till Interm (minor) service and 26000 miles till Major service but also says "Oil change in 1000 miles" so seems a bit of a PITA taking it in now to change oil when it needs a service in 6000 miles

The VAG derived engines have a 10k mile / variable oil service - that includes the petrol 2.0 turbo in the Macan - ironically the oil is termed 'longlife'?!; minor and major maintenance is still 20k / 40k - 2yr / 4yr.

The remaining engines just have 20k / 2yr servicing with additionals @ 4/6/8yrs

Funny, mine had the same issue a couple of months ago - oil service needed in 30 days, but next 'proper' service due in the Spring 17. Irritating and wasteful in terms of oil usage.
