Anyone trying Veganuary this year?

https://veganuary.com/

(Not sure where to put this as it's not just a food and drink matter.)

Do you also have to wear non-leather shoes in Jan as well? And not wear down jackets in the height of winter ?

The wife announced a few days ago "I think I'm going to do Veganuary", after both myself and our daughter picked ourselves up off the floor, from laughing we mentioned a few things that she would have to go without:

  • milk in her tea
  • her favourite chocolate
  • favourite sweets
  • eggs
  • cheese
And a few others, she said "mmmm maybe not"; she hadn't thought it through properly.

Vegetarians I get, Vegans I just don't.

my sister in law is now vegan. Its intolerable, and I say this as a vegetarian. I'm not to fussy, I'll et whats put in front of me, and if its got meat in it, I wont eat the meaty bits (but will offer them to others!). She shows up at our house with weird oily, tasteless muck, starts telling my kids that meat is rotting in their colon and gving them cancer and then refuses to make me a tea with milk, instead using rice water or some such ste.

My vegetarianism is mostly health based (meat gives me the runs), and whilst I'd like to save the world, I'd also like a V12, so its swings and roundabouts, Veganism is just self harm for smug people trying to prove their superiority. Have you ever met a vegan who just got on with it?

I have no problem with vegetarians and vegans. If they came to dinner at my house I'd happily accommodate their requirements.

But would they cook me a steak if I went to their house?

About spot on!

I suppose they thought it clever to make a play on the word January...

'Veganuary aims to reduce the suffering of animals by inspiring and supporting people across the globe to go vegan for the month of January'

I wonder if these clever dicks gave it a second thought that February also ends uary?

Probably not. rolleyes
I suppose it could be a ploy to continue it during Feb?

Who the hell cares, the very thought of any Flora Freedom crap makes me want to be sick. vomit

How can you tell when a Vegan enters a bar? Simple, they've already told everyone within earshot in the first 2 minutes.

I agree broadly - though I expect it is veganuary because January goes better with vegan(uary)

Though I have no interest in the sentiment either - as said earlier - I am happy to live and let live.

Bit vegans are like some tee-totallers and cannot. They insist on converting you through judgement.

I prefer Meatuary

With February fast approaching I thought it'd be a great idea to promote a meat eating lifestyle. Plus meat rhymes with meet which kind of goes with Valentine's Day.....although meat could too I guess......

I encourage meat eaters to mount their moral high horse and be proud of

1. Giving life to millions of animals that would have otherwise not existed
2. Encouraging wonderful new methods of intensive farming which has helped the starving in third world countries
3. The fact you can enjoy juicy delicious meat biggrin

So basically meat eaters both create and save life.
