Perfect male physique
Discussion
Constanly checking myself out in the gym changing room mirrors to make sure I'm heading in the right direction
got me wondering exactly what the "perfect" male physique is.
I know there's a difference of opinion on this depending on if a woman or a man is being asked but that aside...is this kind of transformation possible?
10kg of muscle in TWELVE weeks?! I'm calling bulls
t. Not only on the muscle gain but also the body fat % change. They claim a reduction from 17% to 12.8% in TWO weeks?!
I guess if you're already, or have been, a bit of a gymrat then it's kind of possible, but for the average male I think 3 months for that level of change is almost impossible.
Thoughts?

Too have a body like that you need to be very learn and very strong, much in same way a boxer has too make the weight. Unlike a professional boxer he has done it in 12 weeks rather than months and years.
Exactly. The guy is FAR from a professional athlete and yet they're claiming 10lbs of muscle in 12 weeks.
A quick google throws up a figure of a single lb per week being impressive and even just half a lb being pretty good for the average guy.
My brother has been on the cover of men's health, mens fitness etc and is a maximuscle model. In fact hes the only model to be on both covers simultaneously. He's bigger than the guy in question here but it's taken him six years of discipline to achieve.
ETA: Joey Ramone, I've never seen my brother do anything so extreme, so I'm afraid I disagree with that article.

Perfect for what ?
Health, lifting stuff, attracting women ?
I reckon, about 6 ft height wise, 15 percent body fat, decent amount of muscle but not a bodybuilder physique, most women arent into complete narcissists so a bloke that looks in mirrors more than at them is out, ultra low body fat is very hard to achieve and maintain as is huge muscle mass.
So, for the female attraction bit, best you can do is not be a fat mess, not be self obsessed but look after yourself.
For the health angle, decent level of fitness but not over the top.
Main thing is to be happy with yourself, then a lot of the rest follows, after all, look at women from a male POV, generally we dont want football sized fake tits, trout pouts, tattoed eyebrows, perma tans and all those extreme expressions of "femininity", they look a bit daft, but someone who makes and effort nd doesnt let themselves go is about right, it is a secondary, background thing after personality, sense of humour and being the right "type".

You should be able to see your abs and have a bit of definition on the major muscles, especially chest and arms. I'm a huge fan of proper legs, often neglected by people who only care about the mirror muscles, a nice set of quads takes a long time to achieve and look fantastic ((but not much good with skinny jeans). Achieve all that and you'll be in the very small minority and should be able to hold your own on the beach and around the pool.
I've always thought people with too much body fat who do weights look a bit silly, so my personal opinion is a lean body is the best starting point.
I agree that pro swimmers tend to look good, albeit a little too wide on the back for my taste.

mens fitness, what a load of BS. esp the 12 week transformation stuff they do. the guy is fairly low body fat anyway, and he already exercises. the before picture was probably him with a full stomach from eating salty foods. with the flash pointed directly at him. after photo was taken after he was dehydrated, put on a tan, and has the flash/light source from the side.
wouldn't be suprised if he had BOTH a PT and someone to write up/make his meal plan. which 95% of people don't. also strange that he brings out the same 12week programme almost every year at the start.
as for perfect physique.. what about a functional one? most comments here seem to only care about asthetics. pure vanity, and that's not manly.

Come on now, if working out didn't give aesthetic results would ANYBODY actually bother?
Everybody can appreciate a well sculpted physique; the only people that care how much you can bench are other dudes. Given the choice (which I am) I'd rather impress women than guys. I don't really see anything non-manly about that.
Plus, regardless of how strong you are, personally I don't like the powerlifter/bodybuilder physique.
Bodybuilders look like a bag of walnuts and powerlifters just look fat for the most part. I appreciate it takes a whole other level of motivation and discipline, neither of which I possess in abundance, but from a purely aesthetic POV, they're not good looks.
