So, we are makIng wedding plans for 2018! We are looking for wedding cars for the both of us. She wants something vintage, I'm still undecided, so we thought we would turn to pistonheads to see if any members have a suitable car and would be willing to offer their services!

Please let us know below!

You might like to start with the county/region/country that you are getting married smile

This kind of thing appears fairly regularly in the supercar forum and usually results in rather negative responses. If you genuinely intend to 'hire' you will immediately invalidate a private owners insurance. If you want a free service, then obviously some owners are less than willing.

They still have time to develop a terminal illness.

Or for surefire success have a baby with a terminal illness.

I had not thought about the insurance, thank you for raising that point. I understand that most would not be willing to help if there is nothing in return. I'm sure an agreement could be made privately.

I am sure people can help, but I think for peace of mind and the safety aspect to spend a little more and get a professional company.

Thank you. We weren't expecting negative comments and we're only asking as some PH'ers are helpful. smile

There did appear to be a slightly negative response, but I'm sure all on here wish you well in your plans for your special day.
However, the point about insurance is a valid one, and the best way forward would be to book a reliable professional wedding car hire firm.
I know that some grooms on here have organised PHers to ferry wedding guests to and from church/ registry office/ reception venue etc, but to be honest, the cars are usually those awful noisy smelly TVR things with no roofs on, and no bride wishes to walk up the aisle with her hairdo in tatters, does she?

Pity you're all the way down there in Kent, because this hire firm near me have an excellent reputation:

Good luck to you both. smile

Are you wishing those who give a negative response a terminal illness on themselves or even a child? confused

No.

It was a flippant comment.

Not wishing illness on anyone, just noting that if the OP was to get a terminal illness then he has a much better chance of getting a free car.

I was trying to be humourous but on reflection should have left it

I thought it was quite humorous for this time of day but would have been improved with the addition of a smiley at the end, just to make sure it was seen as such.

There fore only 6/10 for effort smile

OP, you probably want a professional company who have a chance of having some form of backup transport.

Or save your money, rent a regular (nice E class, etc) car from Hertz, etc (or use your own car) and ask a friend/usher/best man to drive you.

Hi guys

Thanks for all the points raised and on reflection a professional company is maybe the best route for us to go down. (but i will keep Babs Cabs as a backup! smile )

She wants something traditional and vintage, I just cannot make up my mind!

I'm in W Sussex, not a million miles from you, and I have used these guys before when I needed to hire a vintage car for a ball.

We had a Rolls Royce formerly owned by the Queen Mother, which was lovely.

When my nephew got married last year his bride had a vintage Rolls Royce.
I could ask him where they booked it if you like.
They got married in Eynsford n. Kent
