It's quite likely that I'll be starting a temporary contract with a bank in London for a few months. Would like a open a ltd company to make payments as tax efficient as possible.
Is this possible if the contract is through a temp agency? Will it not just be a PAYE, or can I elect to have payments made to ltd comp?

It's a question asked very frequently here - in various guises.

If you intend to become a contractor for a period of a year or more, then operating through a limited company is still a feasible thing to do. If this is a one off short term engagement, I wouldn't advise setting up a company UNLESS you can foresee further engagements of a similar type cropping up regularly.
