Article and video about haw a light aircraft landing at a private airfield hit a car during its landing approach ( the plane's approach, not the car's wink )

Luckily no-one was seriously injured

It's quite an old video now (2012). I remember seeing it at the time.

Back in World War 2, a landing Douglas Boston hit a double decker bus at Weston Super Mare Airfield (the site of the present Helicopter Museum). Quite a few schoolchildren were killed.

A light aircraft hit a jag xj6 on a small airfield in Bedfordshire back in the early 70's.
The jag was a write off as the roof was virtually peeled off . The plane did manage to land but was also classed as a write off as lots of it was twisted out of line .
The jag owner was pissed and using the airfield as a short cut home from the clubhouse of the local golf course.

The court vase was long and complicated and ultimately very expensive for the jag owner .

One of the routes I drive a train on goes past Durham Tees Valley Airport.
While heading East, the airport is on my right and to my left are some poles with wires strung between them. These wires are to put the railway signals back to danger if an aircraft doesn't take off or comes down short.
