I'm looking at changing the flexible fuel lines on my car again (I changed them a few years ago after a small leak that happened while I was in my own yard and now I'm afraid to let them get old and perished for fear of them failing while I'm driving) and I'm wondering where people are getting their hoses from these days.

Last time I got 8mm ID fuel line from a local auto factors and was never fully happy with the hose they got me.

It was the type with the thread-type braiding on the outside of a rubber-type hose and while it was rated correctly for the pressure, etc I never felt that the thread braiding offered any sort of protection if the hose rubbed off some part of the body / engine, always felt it could wear through it very easily.

This time I'm after something better.

Any suggestions folks ?

I remember this topic being discussed on here some years ago (I probably even contributed to it myself) but I've tried the search and can't find it frown .

Please also be aware of this, it's a sticky on the Chimp forum but should be on all forums IMHO:

Look at GATES BARRICADE, I have ordered that to change the fuel lines of my S after there was a leak and was lucky to not have a fire.
