Is it possible to be naturally unlucky? Does it seem some get more than their fair share of deserved st, and how is that possible?

Seems like I'm always plagued with twists of bad luck. When something goes right, everything's been done by the book, put your blood, guts soul, everything, it's followed by a sting in the tail. I'm a believer in equilibrium - at least in the physical sense. I do think that if equilibrium is real I've either been very bad in a previous life or the next one would be glorious, albeit after this one I'll skip the next if I get a choice.

Came to conclude that Earth is not my natural home, I am a mistake here, reject, and do not naturally or otherwise thrive. Sounds unbelievable but I have vividly seen the moment that my being was travelling at high velocity though a space-like entity and somehow became trapped in human flesh. Why I do not know, could have been anything, anywhere but I became trapped in flesh. What a very odd experience life is.

What the actual fk?! Not sure I can make sense of that...either I've been drinking too much, or you have confused

Or as Gary Player (I think) said about his golf, "you know the funny thing is, the more I practice, the luckier I seem to get"

Came to conclude that someone has been drinking and has reached the morose stage.

There is no accounting for luck, all you can do is try harder to create the outcome you want. And pick yourself up best you can when it all goes against you.

im not sure on that. i know a few people who got good jobs by basically being lucky, but for every lucky person someone has to be unlucky.

And you say you are not lucky. Just imagine all the other things you could have become trapped in other than human flesh after your interstellar journey! A rock, some poo, a Toyota Avensis - oh hang about, you have one of those. I take it back.

Yes. You might be able to improve on your own luck, but you can't actually make it. I've got good jobs in the past by simply being in the right place at the right time, with the right stuff. The last bit was down to me, but without the luck in the first place it would not have mattered how much right stuff I had.

To answer the op, yes I think (or certainly used to) it's true.

Up to the age of 25, I seemed to have assumed all of my bad luck *and* that of my peer group of friends. Parental divorce, parental disability then death, resultant poverty (or breadline proximity) and a few other nasties.

However, other than my mother still being alive I wouldn't change a thing. It may be a ph cliche, but adversity has made me self-reliant, resilient and motivated.

Ultimately, the things you can't control are random but you do become luckier with the things you can influence, if you work hard.

Seriously though, chin up my friend.

Truth be told we are all trapped in one way or another and the interesting thing is that a lot of the time it is us who build out own cages. If you are not having any luck doing what you are doing now than maybe it is because you are not doing the right kind of thing. I see you are a company director. That is a tough gig if you are trying to create and grow a new business. Small decisions by others can have a huge impact on your success or failure. I know from experience!

Also, rather than Earth not being your natural home maybe your current location on Earth is not. We all get stuck in a rut in the same place with the same people doing largely the same thing. Why not break out of the rut and go somewhere new. If things are as bad as you suggest, you have not got a lot to lose.

Lastly, do some careful self-analysis. If the same st keep happening to you then there is a good chance that the way you approach things or the way you come across to others is a factor.

Good luck!

The way I look at things is if I have my health, 3 hot meals a day and a roof over my head then my luck is in , to a point.

Luck is a funny old thing.

Anything else is a bonus. Looking at the state of the world, my luck could have been a ste sight worse.

Luck only exists in the past. Luck is when something good happened that could as easily have gone badly. But there's no force that determines who gets what. It's just chaos.

If you want results, don't rely on luck.

On a slightly related note, does anyone else ever get a kind of distant feeling of anxiety when things are going a bit too well?

Like the notion that something bad must be hiding around the corner if things are going too well?
