Me too; it's fascinating to watch the engineering (and backwards engineering I suppose) that goes into conversions like this. I'm also interested to see the work that goes into the electronics side.

Watching with interest smile Often wondered what a Z4 with the V10 would be like, I know it's been done but if the OP is looking for another project after this one....

Looking forward to this, shame there is no dual clutch gearbox option as that would be best imo

Look on M3 cutters for "V10 Now" the plate of a converted one. Not sure if there's a build thread, but it has been done.

What happened to the touring idea??

Very complex but you seem to have a good grasp on it and access to the data so I'm sure you'll be fine. Hopefully some major progress starts soon as this is one I want to see smile

Looking forward to your progress on this, especially regarding the electronics... i started making my chassis for mine last week, steering rack is one of the biggest obsticals for me as well I decided to move the engine back so the rack goes in front of the engine rather that under it lol

Every time I have the engine out the car Im stunned by the sheer size of the lump lol

When I picked up my E63 in 2006 I had it delimited at Hartge in Beckingen. They had fitted a V10 into a 3 series and it was even modified to have a dipstick..apparently amazing performance at the time............
