girlfriends car had some nasty scrots graze it on the weekend, some minor scratches that will “wet and dry” paper out with a small re-spray. Also a serving spoon size and shaped dent. What is the cheapest way of pulling the dent ? I’ve heard of Dent Master and / or some vacuum based system for small dents – anyone have any advice ? SW London or north London (zone 6) areas preferred. cheers

Can't go wrong with Chips Away - stunned with what they did on my car, to deep chips in wheel arch bulges, chips on rear bridge spolier and worn paint on front PU.

I have a couple of small scratches that some kind motorists have left as presents and was tempted to use one of the chips away types, however my independant told me that he had a Boxster in last week that had been recently patched up (not sure by who) and where the paint had just washed off. Anyone else have any good experience of these companies?

I`ve never been a fan of the localised paint people. We see a lot of "repairs" that go off colour or dull after a while. We just get the car painted properly.

Dent removal on the other hand is fine. There is no such thing as "sucking" a small dent out. You need access to the rear of the dent to knock it out but there are a number of people who offer the service. We use Dentfix 01753 880 527. They aren`t miracle workers but on the right type of dent they can do a good job.

Have used chips away on 5 of my cars - really chuffed each time and has worked out £100's cheaper than traditional method. Plus haven't noticed any ill effects over nearly 3 years on one of them.

Heartily recommend them - well the chap I used up here in Newcastle anyhow!
