assetto corsa question

Hi, I was in asda the other day and seen AS for sale very cheap, went to buy it but they said they were sold out. my question is, is it worth buying?
I love project cars and I like race cars on track not so much road cars. as much as I love PC there's not many people on line (xbox by the way) and was wondering if AC is a better on line experince. I don't get a lot of time to play these days so am I better off sticking with PC?
