had the window up and down a few times on a run at the weekend and it was fine, then i tried to drop it again and there was a cracking gratey sound and now the window doesn't appear to be attached to the winder mechanism anymore. i know this is a common problem, but how do I fix it. If I hold the top of the pane I can wiggle it all over the pace if I drop the handle a bit, and I can also see a big C-shaped plastic clip that is no longer firmly attached to the bottom edge and looks like it should be.

Should I just unscrew all the screws from the door liner and work it out from there? How do you get the window winder handle off? (If its a scres, sorry, haven't really looked yet!)

I helped SWorks re-attach his window to the mechanism.

It's a fiddly but not impossible job. Somewhere on t'interweb, there's a how to, with pictures. I'm sure SWorks will have the url somewhere...

2 options - buy a whole new window arrangement and have it fitted (IIRC quoted about £150 for this) or you can use this guide which is an absolute @rse of a job but done properly will fix it...
