Wheeler Dealer Cerb for sale on Pistonheads

Just a bit!
Strong money for a 4.2 but it was a very well sorted car a few years ago.
The cool factor of having a car which had a TV episode dedicated to it is worth something, but how you put a value on that....
Values are all over the place at the moment but with some other 4.2s up at around the £20k mark, I don't think Fernhurst are being particularly unfair. It's a few thousand over what could be the average, but then again Fernhurst are usually a few thousand above the average because well... they're Fernhurst.
Be interesting to see how long it takes to sell.

I don't remember WD adding that sub woofer.
Fernhurst dropped their prices quite a bit for most cars in November, the Speed Six Chimaera by £8k!
BUT, the prices no longer include an extended warranty like they used to. 24 months on some cars previously.

I don't think it will hang around long even at that money....there is a certain extra attraction if a car's been featured or owned by somone notable.
14k...yes I think thats right and 8k before WD did the work...it does seem a bit of a hike but its a lot of car!
I check TVR prices often and its definately not consistent, I think people find it hard to put a price on any of the models, apart from the griffs maybe which seem long term steady as there's so many variables..,,especially with some models.
I wish I'd had a few 964 911's tucked up somewhere though! So I could sell them and buy more TVR's

Do you happen to know what Fernhurst are like to deal with? Not seen much mentioned about them.Fernhurst dropped their prices quite a bit for most cars in November, the Speed Six Chimaera by £8k!

I bought a Chimaera from them early last year and, from the perspective of a first-time TVR owner, they've been really good and supportive. Of course being a first-timer I have no other TVR dealerships to compare them with :-)WillS

Have bought both a Chim and a Tuscan from them in the past, not as cheap as others around at the time but they where the best I could find, my Tuscan they found for me. If I was still into TVR's now I would probably still be dealing with them, they were IMHO a first class bunch of guys to deal with.
You have to remember that not all dealers will suit all customers, some will like, some will not, I had no problems either buying or servicing my two cars over a 6 year period.
Only one real complaint was that they were always busy and you usually had to make your own coffee.

Hello you little lurkers.

Not been there personally, but not mentioned, really? There's 20 plus threads mentioning them in the last 6 months:http://www.pistonheads.com/search?SearchText=fernh...

Graham used to run servicing and made my car feel like new after a 12K service. Generous and helpful to a fault.
Simon, who used to be in sales, is an absolute star. Honest, funny and full of brilliant stories.
Couldn't recommend them highly enough.
(My only caveat is that was ten years ago so things may have changed. Give 'em a ring and see who's there)

When I started looking for my cerb almost two years ago, I called to see if they had anything within my budget. At the time they had only recently let a car go for well beneath my budget, which was unfortunate. Regardless of whether or not I'd eventually buy a car from them, they encouraged me to call with any Cerbera/TVR related questions and they offered to recommend someone to inspect any TVR I might be interested in that happened to be down south.
They didn't have to do any of that, and I found them thoroughly nice people to talk to and deal with during my search. Any registration I mentioned, they voluntarily confirmed if they knew the car and what kind of condition they believed it to be in. Very helpful even though they didn't expect to make any money from me.
The correspondence that previous owners have had with FH then printed off and kept as a part of the service history indicates that they were fair with my car's early owners for several years after it was new, until it was eventually sold to someone from outside of the area.
From what I've seen and heard, I have no reason to say anything bad about them.

Thank you for the excellent information. Always heard good things about them and from many who have dealt with them, but things may have changed, I am aware of a Chimaera sold there recently for almost Griff money with a fresh MOT etc that had rotten (as in holed) outrigger and wishbone, leaky diff, numerous electrical starting issues etc.
It has now been put right, but not without having to argue and involve 3rd party inspections.
I'd make sure you know what you are looking for or get someone who does and check thouroughly before purchasing no matter who is selling the vehicle.
