Quite a tidy looking trailing arm chassis on flea. Curious thing is they state it was bought for a 350SE restoration but I'm assuming all 350SE's would have been the latter A frame suspension? Still a lot of useful stuff on the rolling chassis. If I lived nearer I'd be very tempted to buy for the spares.

Hi Keith.

The 350SE I believe was built at the end of the 350i which was 1990-1991...Pretty sure it would of been A frame....A series 1 350i certainly would have.....

It's an early 200 or 280 chassis as the chassis rails either side of the engine are straight

It also has the rear mounted front ARB so it's a really early chassis

Not a lot of use for the planned 350SE rebuild then. Someone got it very wrong. Would be shame to break it. How was the chassis on the gold FHC bought by the Dutch guy at the BBWF? Was his name Bernt or Hans?

I was just about to post the same. It's not a 200 chassis though - single engine mount rails.

They may have edited the listing but they do state it is a 280 chassis.

I wonder if a S6 would fit?

Yep, I did send them a message and advised that it's an earlier chassis.

Hans, the chassis looks very good, outriggers like new. Start resto in the spring and attend BBWF in another FHC, if all goes well. See you there, cheers.

Morning all.

Would the chassis be useable if completely stripped, re powdercoated ? as there doenst seem to be any damage etc.

ummm, I'm tempted I have to admit.

Dom it certainly looks in very good condition. You could buy it and recoup costs by selling off the running gear.
