996 Turbo engine upgrades

I have a 996 Turbo Cab and need a little more power - anyone with any history of different ECU upgrades? I currently only have a Cargraphic exhaust system that is loud (!) but does make the turbos spool up a little quicker - no appreciable power increase.

There are a wealth of companies offering ECU upgrades & more, DMS, AMD, Revo etc come to mind.

DMS get a good press at the moment & their ECU upgrade chip is cost effective at around £2k

Thanks - I have heard all kinds of things about the different ones e.g. non-linear "spiky" power curve etc. I am still under warranty so I want to try and get something tried and tested! Prices seem to vary from £2,000 to £5,000.

EVO magazine tested a 996 TT with a DMS chip (& exhaust upgrade I believe) & were very complimentary on its delivery of power & the all round tuning.
Obviously any upgrade except the X50 will invalidate the warranty.
Most (including DMS) say their chip is undetectable to Porsche diagnostics. However a mate recently had his upgraded by Revo & its easy to know that the car has been modified over standard.
All it would take is a quick drive down the road for Porsche to know its been modified & null the warranty.
