As per the title, I'm interested in retro fitting a couple of things to my '06 coupe.

1. Reverse Camera
2. Heated seats

With the reverse camera - is it just plug and play with the Audi RNS E system?
Also, does anyone know if it's possible to update POI's using the SD card slots, or, like the maps themselves, it can only be done on the DVD's.

Heated seats - from what I have read, I will need to get a new climate control unit that has the heated seat switches - is there anything else that I might need (apart from the obvious heated pads!).

If anyone here has any insight or first hand experience of doing either of these, it would be a big help! Thanks in advance.

Interested in both of these two upgrades too for my 04 so I'll watch with interest.

Are you suggesting that the seats already have the heating elements in if it's "just" a hvac control swap ?? that would be nice

People fit cameras in the honeycomb grill and hook up to the head unit - I believe they can all handle it but might need some work.

Talk to Lamborghini Manchester - I know they've done cameras, or perhaps BHP.

The in-car display is pretty poor quality, I wouldn't bother.

They don't really need a reverse camera. There is plenty of visibility through the mirrors and rear window.

Heated seats sap power and slow the car down...

rear camera pointless, get parking sensors fitted...

heated seats also destroy the leather... its soft Italian leather so stretches with time, faster with heated seats

I had the RNS head unit removed a couple of years ago, and a modern 7" Alpine unit installed (much better, easily updatable mapping, DAB, etc). I also had a camera mounted above the plate. Upside, it really does make parking easier (and I hate to admit that!). Downside, in this weather the lens is constantly covered in filth.....
