Sunninghill / Chaucer Insurance
Discussion
Our T350 is insured at the moment with Sunninghill and Chaucer. Tried them on our Tamora and Chim, they couldn't get close to A Mannings so I'm surprised there competetive.
£800 no Track day use vs £600 with Track day use. All other details apper the same.
No dealings with respect to claims.

I am currently with Mannings and they have quoted the best part of £800.00 for the renewal. Sunninghills have quoted £540.00 including track day cover, unlimited milage and NCB protection.
No contest in terms of price.

Pretty much the opposite of my experince then.
Sunninghill £1300 for Chim, Mannings £500
Sunninghill £800 for T350, Mannings £600
Sunninghill £800 for Tamora, Mannings £600.
I will say that after the 3rd non-competitive quote, Sunninghills said they would need to discuss what they percieved as a problem with their under-writers as they were clearly not competitive. That was about 14 days ago.

Sunninghill are excellent. Aaron is a star, got my ECU remap other bits added to the policy without an increase in price. Get prices from both, obviously. Sunninghill are always a pleasure to deal with, as a small first name basis company
I think my mind is now made up. Sunninghills it is then.
BTW for a giggle, I rang Tesco for a quote. They wanted £1200.00 to insure the Chim and they asked me if it was the standard 5 seat model.

Sunninghill raised my insurance by £200 for this years renewal hence thay lost my business to Classic line.
Check the trackday conditions as they would not cover me for the TVR winter driving day either

According to the quotation track days are covered as long as they are organised through the TVRCC. The policy excess rises to £1000.00 though.

Not on my policy, track days are covered as long as they are registered track day of some governing body etc... i.e. EasyTrack days are fine...

hear hear, the man is a star!
I agree with all of the above, are they able to give competitive quotes again.
I have had great service from Sunninghill in the past and their prices are very competitive
Chaucer have been fantastic with me over my recent mishap in the Cerbera and sorted the repair of the car straight away + the recovery costs
However due to a change of address and the car not been kept at new address they will not insure me anymore
. So I have had to find cover else where with Mannings which are happy to insure the car at a location other than my drive. The cost has increased but not by so much last year £422 this year £586 + I have had an 11K claim.

I tried Mannings each year but as they do not mirror NCB (I transferred to the first TVR from a classic car which I had for 9 years but which was insured on a classic car policy that does not accrue NCB) and Sunninghill do the latter were much much cheaper.
Also find Aaron excellent to deal with.

I am just in the process of shopping around for quotes,
so far My renewal with Direct Line £808, Sunninghill £550 but wouldn't cover the other half as she doesn't drive the car enough. Strange how you get a discount for reducing your annual milage but then won't cover an additional driver because they don't do enough miles! Track cover was also listed as TVRCC/TVR engineering arranged events only.
Classic line and also heritage have come up with similar quotes around £650 - £670 Track cover abailable for an additonal premium for each event. Used to be £10 last time I was insured with them.
