Bike transport companies
Discussion
Anyone used a company to move one of their bikes? Have seen these guys who do a reasonable price, www.anyvan.com just wondering if there are any recommendations for this or any others?
Cheers.

My friend runs a motorcycle transportation business, he is also on anyvan, be mindful that your bike could end up with a load of furniture lobbed alongside it from a house move, some of these guys that bid for the job do not even have a loading ramp or any secure fixing points.
Have a look on my friends website , if you like what you see, ask him for a qoute, tell him Bryan pointed you his way.

I would recommend this chap http://www.thebikemovers.co.uk/bike-movers.php
He moved my bike at short notice, outside normal hours and his price was very reasonable.

Last year I used www.shiply.com to get quotes for transporting a bike I bought from Swindon to Beaconsfield
Quite a range of prices and a few discarded when you realise they dont transport bikes regularly, in the end I went with allbikesmove
Hassle free and the fella had a couple of bikes he was dropping of at different places, cost was about £80

Hmm, there's a guy down here who has a small fleet (about 3 I think) of bike transport vans, they are properly kitted out (hydraulic lift ramps, wheel chocks, etc). Looks like he does cover the whole UK. http://www.movingmotorcycles.co.uk
He does a lot of work for manufacturers, customers guys, etc, so the bike would def be looked after properly.

As above, www.movingmotorcycles.co.uk are a very professional outfit. New, properly equipped vans, and all the drivers are ex bike trade and motorcyclists. They are all, without exception, proper gents, whom understand the business, so if you want to rest easy that your bike will turn up on time, unmarked and undamaged, they're the people. I've used them many times, and will do so again

£4250 and in North Cheshire. Am looking to potentially transport a bike purchase from a dealer near London.
I just had one delivered to Kent from Carlisle yesterday for £136 with SOS. Arrived in a dedicated truck with 5 other bikes all loaded with plenty of space around them and well lashed down. Good experience with them and they seem to be a fairly large outfit so maybe better than the one man band type on anyvan if there were problems etc.Appreciate this is an old thread, but the info contained has been very useful to me in last few weeks. Thanks to podman for his recommendation of http://www.motomovers.uk/
I needed to move bike at short notice from Bedford to Derby, spoke to Mike (owner of Moto Movers), cut a long story short I would definitely recommend him for anyone wanting to move bikes; friendly, punctual, very reasonable price, but above all professional approach and professional equipment. I knew my bike was in safe hands and would be protected and secure in an unmarked van. Tks again podman (Bryan) and Mike, regards JB.
