New R129 Owner! ??... insurance question

Hello, I have just acquired a beautiful 300 SL and am just about to insure it.

Can anyone recommend an insurance company that cover classic Merceds?

My 1992 500SL R129 is insured with RH Specialist Insurance for a pleasingly low sum (classic policy, garaged, countryside postcode, less than 3000 miles a year, use of another car). Seem like a fairly old-fashioned small outfit but easy enough to deal with.

Mines with Saga, I couldn't find a reasonable price from the classic insurers.

I have my Porsche 944 Turbo and R129 500SL both with RH, 5000 miles a year each, agreed values of £20K for the Porsche, £10K for the Merc, and it's something like £350 a year for the pair combined. Garaged in North Yorkshire.

Peter Best Insurance and Peter James Insurance both do Merc classic policies.

Good lord! I just phoned them up, what a pleasant company to deal with and an excellent price too!

I also have a 1992 500SL and insure through Classic Line in Hinckley. Excellent people to deal with. I have the same cover as you and my premium is £198 including breakdown.
