As it says on the tin what are people's views on the 2 cars - GT versus S ?

I like a sporty/racier car to a GT cruiser as a rule but somehow prefer the more traditional look of the GT to the S.
The rear window and C pillar treatment of the GT car looks prettier IMHO. Is that the general consensus ?

I think the 570S will definitely lend itself to the spider format though and no doubt that will be revealed in Geneva. ( but I already have the 650S spider for that )

At the moment I'm thinking a 570GT with a MSO race exhaust and Track pack would be a perfect car for me but sadly such a thing doesn't exist, YET.

Maybe I could ask the question ?

What's others thoughts on the 2 cars and which one would you choose if a bespoke MSO car was not an option - 570S or 570GT, you decide

I share that opinion - I reckon the 570GT looks sooooo much more "complete", and ironically sportier, at the back when compared to the 570S. Much sleeker.

LOOK AT IT!

They both look stunning to me, as you know I have an 570S and prefer the S over the GT, however I would love them to make a GTS which would be the best of both worlds and I'd have one of those in a heart beat.

Styling of the rear window of the GT is more preferable to me. Seems to suit the car more.

Yeah GTS sounds good. I want the "S"portiness in the GT package

I went through the same thought process and ordered a 570GT with some MSO bits. The MSO titanium exhaust fits both the S and GT

+1, but as i have one on order( build completion 23 Jan and collecting 1 March) i would say that!

The rear aft of the roof looks sooo much better that the S IMHO.

A newcomer's opinion - the GT looks great , but personally prefer the looks of the S - largely because I think the drama and specialness ( is that a word?) is massively increased in these types of cars by being able to view the engine through the rear deck. I also personally prefer to go with a brand's specific USP - for McLaren that IMHO is focussed road going performance cars, rather than softened up GTs. Engine noise etc for me on a McLaren should be as loud as possible rather than toned down. Again in my opinion if I wanted a GT I would get a DB11 - actually went through the process of deciding between DB11, 570S and 570GT recently and landed on a 570S for all the above reasons. Can't wait!

The rear treatment is the main thing I never liked about the S - I much orefer the GT - it is actually a car I would consider owning

Both look awesome to me. I don't think the GT's rear hatch adds that much practicality - there is a shelf in the S anyway. I do wish the engine was a bit more visible in both models, and I'm not a fan of the vents on the engine cover on the GT. But I still ordered a GT...

I'm waiting to see if I can fit a 570S sports exhaust to a GT (ordered mine with a std exh to start with). Same engine, same output, same rear valance, same tailpipes - just wonder if there is any difference in the pipework under the body...

Definitely something that will polarises opinion.

I prefer the S as I've always thought super/sports cars look more special with a flat rear deck (it's why I still haven't gelled with the Huracan Coupe, although Spyder looks stunning to me).

I would go 570S with the track pack for more visual drama at the rear.

I thought I preferred the look of the GT versus the S from the various pics I'd seen. I went to see them at Ascot over the Christmas period and came away thinking that on balance I preferred the S. Next stop is some test drives, incl the 650S given the similar price point.

I initially plumped for the 570s but then started having second thoughts about the GT. Eventually decided to stick with the 570s. I don't need another GT car and on balance I actually prefer the 570s. That's not to say the 570GT is an inferior car - just different and not for me. It's a very handsome beast though. I've got my hopes pinned on an LT version clap

I preferred the look of the GT. Its the same 570 output and similar weight if CCBs are specced. Its not a track car for me so slightly softer springs and steering are perfect.

The GT is 45 kg heavier than the 570S, a lot of that weight is in the wrong place i.e. the glass roof, which accounts for a lot of this weight gain in in the wrong place high up effecting the centre of gravity.

However I just love them both, which ever you choose is the right thing for you so just enjoy, the fact that you have bought the sports car bargin of the last year is an added bonus. Pics when you get them please

Who said anything about buying one ?
TP321 said I had burnt my fingers so badly on the 650S spider I had learnt my lesson and would NEVER buy another McLaren let alone an additional one rofl

Anyway its a nice idea but 2 McLarens on the driveway of my council house is a bit risky

Of the pair on looks alone the GT
I don't really like the looks of the 12c or 650 spider either, it looses those graceful lines.
