So the 450SE on ebay ended at £10,100, which didn't hit it's reserve.

I would appreciate your thoughts on the value of this car which seemed to need recommissioning. Would it have been a real bargain at £10k?

p.s. Not my car, just wondering about the value of 400/420/450SE's

I can't seem to find the auction page, but was it this?:

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

I have no knowledge or experience with Wedges (so I can't comment on market value to answer your question) but the ad above has aroused my interest. I was about to open a thread to ask for opinions or comments on it that you may be kind enough to offer. If it's the same car, then this thread can be a good place to talk (if you are ok with it). If it's a different car, then I apologize smile

I see. I would've thought a 450SE in good condition would be worth 16k or more so what you're saying makes sense to me, but I don't really know. Thanks for the clarification smile

Definitely but both these two are chequered in history and available info!!...The one you posted should realistically only be half that asking price for a variety of reasons....One being VERY wet...frown

Don't intend to name and shame but if these sellers were real Wedge enthusiasts then these cars would of sold ages ago...But they will keep going round and round until some poor unknowing soul forks out a lot of hard earned cash just to be gravely disappointed...Its a real shame as these beast are rare....And sought after...

I get your point and totally agree.

Like I said, I was getting interested. I always ask for informed opinions before making any serious move with my hard earned cash. Communities like PH are priceless for things like this.

Thanks!

The Blue 450SE has reappeared on eBay. Wonder if the reserve is lower now or if it will fail to sell again.

What, why, when he's charging £300 for a ticket.
Either that's £250 profit or he knows there's a big bill due.
Not that I'm cynical or anything of course

Hi

It appears the cat d was due to a big frontal impact due to the owner in 2014 trying to drive it along a ditch smilewobble

Hi Darren

The person who owned it in 2014. The costs to get it repaired was quoted at £7.5K the owner then sold it as it was to a person in Essex who repairs caravans.

Makes me feel very sad. 7.5 k ? Must have been a mess, fixed by a bloke who fixes Caravans !,, another good and rare wedge ..... ruined, lost forever

I wondered why the pinstripes are missing and my beautiful engine bay has turned to crap.
