I had this done a couple of years ago. Just found a picture of an engine I liked and took it to a good tattoo studio.

Hasn't G. Martin got something similar on his leg?
That's actually two different engines btw, maybe we should have a 'guess the engine' competition, one looks a bit like a Honda.
Would it bother you if it was an Atco lawnmower engine?

Couldn't tell what it was.

It was a motor bike engine if i recall. Car engine pics tended to be too big and just single pistons didn't have enough detail for what I wanted. I belive it is the same engine though from a different angle.

Putting my geeky engine hat on here, apropos nothing and artistic licence aside there are two different designs of conrod there, so two different engines.

Loving some of these being posted, very good smile

I was in Austin (TX) earlier this year, and bought the artwork below in a small gallery. Excuse the pic, just a phone pic taken as I was thumbing through their boards - I haven't had it framed yet.

I think for me it would form a pretty good basis for a tattoo. I've loved Beetles all my life, and it combines that with my love of music.

I'm sorry, but I don't get that at all - I'm guessing from your profile that you do actually own a sting ray? If not it seems really odd.

and even then why would you want to be a walking advert for a brand. The ultimate anti--establishment statement of getting a tattoo....of a corporate brand on your arm.....

Each to their own and all that but I'd love to know what the logic behind something like that is?

No. I own a keeper '87, and I totally bemoan the fact that its not called a Stingray. Anyway the C4 Corvette logo resembles the London Underground symbol and there's no way I'm having that!

Retiring soon on a fat NHS pension and six figure lump sum after 42 years, so who knows! Old Corvettes are my all time favourite cars and I wouldn't buy anything else, but I do love my '87..

Logic doesn't really figure in my life, but emotion and fun does!

Cool huh? cool
