TVR London to Brighton Run 2005

Why is there no TVR brighton burble ?? even smart cars are on this one, the same day as the old crocks would be a date, we could be back to hyde park while they are still getting up steam

Have you tried parking in Brighton lately? Its a complete nightmare.

We didnt do the Christmas run this year as we went down to the Hants run instead - but we will go down for the speed trials in September. (as we have for the last couple of years, with parking outside the casino)

If you ask the council about hiring Marine Parade they will want about £15k if I recall - fancy starting a whip round??

I wouldn't mind doing a L2B run for the TVRs. I have doen the mini one in the past and it's a good laught, epspecially when the weather's good.

Sounds like a plan. One of the Surrey Runs went to Hayling Island and then back to a pub for lunch. Could do the same kind of thing in Brighton. Meet up in/near London, head for Brighton, enjoy a run along the front and then off to a pub for some tyre kicking and grub.

We took five cars there the weekend before last & couldnt find a parking space along Marine Parade. The only way you'll do it is to get there very early - the local traffic wardens are VERY good at their job!

Otherwise split the cars around the various multi storey car parks.

We have a contact for parking outside the casino in the marina (as before) but we will be using this option again for the Speed Trials - its a bit of an admin nightmare to arrange with security. (jobsworth)

So many events - so little time - this summer is getting silly for events, I may have to sell a kidney

Agreed that it's a good idea in principle. However, as one of the South coast dwellers, I must echo what ncs has said about parking.

Worse than that, in the summer I've been known to spend 3 hours+ in traffic jams around the city centre. The thought of lots of Tivs idling for that long isn't a pretty one

Come to the Speed Trials then - we have done a lot of hard work getting that spot & I dont want to lose the chance to repeat it in September by swapping it for another date.

In the past I have arranged several L2B runs - the best way if you want to park on the seafront is to get there early (9.00am ish) for breakfast. Then go for a run through Sussex on the way home, but if its not an early meet, forget parking!

Just a thought, early days I know, but how many cars do you think will turn up for this? My office is in the Old Steine, very close to the pier. My business neighbour has a carpark in front of Marlborough House, which would fit a dozen or so in it, which is normally empty at the weekends.
