eBay scammer brought to justice...

I have read with interest all of the recent threads about eBay scams and though I would not be foolish enough to fall victim to one of them! However a few months ago I pre-ordered a copy of GT4 from a seller on eBay. Had good feedback (100+ and over 98%) so thought no probs. Alas as the launch date eventually got nearer he stopped replying to e-mails. Then as his feedback plummeted he went private on eBay (so you couldn't access anything) and the phone number provided by eBay was false.
I contacted the other buyers of the same auction and they had all ended up in the same situation. Went through usual channels, eBay, PayPal etc and they were all utterly useless - bent over backwards not to help out or to issue any compensation. I must admit I had pretty much given up until reading a thread on here about e-mailing the scammers ISP. So did that last night + e-mailed him a very to the point (and slightly "spun") e-mail, not expecting a reply.
Which I will now post....

It is true, I have a good job and a 20 month old son so why would I risk all that? I can understand peoples annoyance but no ill intend was ever meant.
If you would be so good as to email me your paypal receipt I will be happy to sort out your refund.
You were right about the police being involved and they have been since before christmas and I have been doing all that has been asked of me however it appears that this is not enough as I had a nother visit last week which is not a very nice experience for either me, my wife or son.

If what you say is true, then that is good news. However it does not tally with the fact that you have ignored my previous correspondence or the fact that the phone number you supplied to eBay is false. However, if what you say is true then I very much look forward to receiving my cheque for the full amount (including P&P) at the earliest opportunity.

I have not 'scammed' people I've simply tried to make a bad situation (being let down by suppliers and panicking) good. I have as I'm sure you are aware been refunding people since before christmas via personal cheque and have continued to do so. I am still trying to contact everyone to confirm their details and refund any outstanding amounts.

First, my I congratulate you on a very good scam. Commendable that you took the time to build up +ve feedback before ripping everyone off.
Second, believe it or not, some people are rather unhappy about you defrauding them. Luckily, thanks to the wonders of modern technology a large group of your victims have been able to congregate (I believe it is could a "blog"). The long and the short of it is this, both eBay and paypal have been so inundated by people persistently reporting you and seeking compensation that they have passed all correspondence relating to you to the police. The police, via your ISP and bank details you provided, claim to now know who you are.
I very much look forward to them throwing the book at you and will do everything I can in assisting them with putting criminals like your good self where they belong, in jail.

PAL simply denotes the console the game is suitable for this being the european on e (UK, mainland europe and #~Australia) American consoles run NTSL game. The reason these are cheaper than most is because I have no or very few overheads which allows me to sell these cheaper whilst still making a small profit.
