Anyone know how the alarm interfaces with the door control box, wire colours would be helpfull or wiring diagram.
when i turn on the alarm it does not deactivate the outside buttons and i can still enter car, also sometimes the outside buttons just stop working completely so locking me out of car, a battery disconect usually resets this,, any help would be appreciated,i am quite competent to do job if can get a wiring diagram etc...thanks

Please accept my apologies if you have a genuine problem...but I think you will find that most on here are reluctant to offer assistance when it comes to security related topics.

May I suggest that you contact your dealer

Hi crazycats
understand your comments but I will sort out the problem without dealers help as i repair cars for a living.
it would just be easier with a wiring diagram.
also my main problem is car will not lock when it should, not visa versa.
I suspect the original meta alarm but this is no longer available from meta..I spoke to them today.
so without a wiring diagram it is a nightmare to replace the alarm with a newer model..

Cool,

As I said, I don't want to cause any offence, but you have to agree that someone who has just joined the forum, and who's first post is relating to alarms, wiring colours to door buttons etc. may raise a few eyebrows.

Not being difficult, just wary

Cheers

hi

yes i do fully understand your remarks and i am not offended in any way.

it is understandable to be wary..

have not posted before because i have only owned my cerbie for around 3 months,

however i do find forums VERY helpfull to share information for many different thing not just vehicle related, and thought i would try to solve my problem with others help !

maybe if i had a wiring diagram i could also help others ( have you ever tried to trace individual wires in a cerbie )
I have wiring diagram for the actual alarm (from Meta)
but not for vehicle wiring..

If no one knows you on here or you cant help us with proving your ownership, then info will not be relayed. They are the board rules. Any security information WILL NOT be handed out on a plate, and anyone doing so via email will be evily frowned upon.

You live in Joospeed home-turf, pop into his garage and have a word.

Sorry everyone is pointing you to a dealer and completely ignoring the fact you don't want to go. May I suggest a compromise. Go to your local Cerb Meet. There WILL be a RO nearby. Once your there I doubt you'll have any trouble getting information.

lol .. you need a dealer!
soz julian, but there's an upgrade kit to the latest unit, with conversion loom, plus you need a upgrade to the door lock control unit to make it all work .. dealer is by far your best route. sometimes these things just have to be done!

Consider me confused, why would his locks going wrong require an upgrade. Surely he's only trying to get back to where he was before they went wrong??

Sorry not replied to everyone not been time,,perhaps if you know me i might get help..
my name is terry jones of Autofit in chesterfield and julian at joospeed knows that i own the car because i bought it of a friend of his Cliff jobson..
i have already spoke to him several times about the car and he as been very helpfull. TOP BLOKE !!
The car was purchased damaged and i have repaired it and chaged the colour to a chamelian flip.
It was partly stripped before i purchased it and the alarm was removed to repair the shell.
i am a electrician and will find the problem if i can get a wiring diagram.
The problem i have is that it does not lock when it should not vise versa, the door and boot buttons carry on working with alarm tuned on..
because i work in the trade i do not want to send my car to a dealer.
i hope this will help,, ask joolz to identify me..
I also feel that i can help others given the chance

I'm at least satisfied this chap is genuine. Tewby send me a mail via my profile and I'll send you a copy of the Cerb workshop manuals on disk - might help, not sure about wiring diags though!

Sure it'll be useful in future if you're handy with a spanner!

Seeing as someone has sent the stuff on I'll add my comments.

Look around the door sensor and magnet. If these or their wiring are not working properly it can cause similar symptoms. Sometimes the window will not go up as it should when the door is closed. The indicators will flash when you set the alarm but the door doesn't lock.
Do you have the interior lights wired up? Do they go out when you close the door?

hopefully you all will realize as both of the above have that i am genuine.
Also joolz and ceejay both now know who i am.
I will email tyre smoke about manual but i really need a wiring diagram.
thanks andy for your input but if door sensors are not working then windows would not go up when door closes and these are fine,
I am pretty sure that i have an harness problem that could be due to accident but all interior was out of car alarm was out also so there as been major disturbenses to wiring.
also the small button on the centre consol that disarms the outer buttons (anti hijack ) wont work and i think the problem may be related.
I hope to be an active and helpfull member of the community and any sensitive material i have relating to security of these cars will be in safe hands..I have run my own repair shop for over 10 years and can probably give something back am also a fully qualified electrician.

Joolz, did you see the V5? notice any wires hanging around? or shifty reg plates? did the guy have a false beard and thick lense glasses?

Sorted.
