I don't get it. That article is clearly a spoof yet the rest of the site looks like that of a legit local newspaper. Confused...

For what it's worth I did actually get a letter from my ISP about pirating TV shows a couple of years ago (I used to d/l torrents). Since then I've stopped, I was making a concious effort to cut down any way. The odd thing is I didn't even do it that much.

The same story is appearing in all the local newspapers and mangling the facts in the same way.

The rights holders are monitoring peer-to-peer (file-sharing) networks to identify instances where their content is uploaded and shared without permission, and if your ISP is BT, PlusNet, Sky, Talk-Talk and Virgin Media you get an email.

So nothing to do with streaming media using Kodi at all. But if you were concerned, just use one of the many VPNs available.

Kodi (I assume you mean exodus plugin) streams and does not download, the article states "Internet customers who use torrenting websites, software and apps to actually download, rather than stream the content are said to be the first to be targeted"

The Court of Justice of the European Union ruled against the NLA saying that viewing copyrighted content online is not copyright infringement. It all boils down to the fact that the copyrighted information is stored only temporarily on the user’s computer, and temporary copies are exempt from copyright laws.

Bad example of a Kodi add on......namely exodus...... As it indeed does have the capability of download tool to either the android hard drive or external source... I would suggest used by many many "Kodi" users
