a Road Angel II and discovered my cigarette lighter doesn't work so I am unable to power my new 'safety device'. I can't locate the fuse either so don't know if it's something as simple as that. Can anyone help me please?

There should be a fuse diagram in your handbook. The fuses are in the drivers footwell. If the diagram doesnt say which is the fuse for the lighter I'm sure your local dealer will tell you. There are spare fuses in your toolkit.

If not the fuse then next most common thing is the earth connection. I had this go on my chimaera, apparently took 5 minutes to locate and fix, did not get charged by dealer.

failing that, take stereo out and you'll easily be able to plug into +12v ignition from there. Thats what I did with my 'safety device'. Much neater than a plug in the cigar* lighter.

Take out the ashtray and the surround and you will be able to see the back of the cigar lighter, make sure the wires are connected (they can pull off if they get in the way of the ashtray) also check the lighter socket is screwed up tight, it might just be that your adaptor is not reaching the connector at the bottom.

Failing all that run a lead from a known earth and from the lighter supply and see if you get 12 volts, if you do then run a lead from a known good supply and the lighter earth and see where the problem lies (i.e. before the lighter socket if the first test fails, after the socket if the second test fails and the socket itself if both work fine)

The interior light is easy to get to for a known live and earth

Good luck
