Saying words the wrong way round

Lately I've been saying words the wrong way round in sentences, (latest was talking to a friend and I said I'm thinking of getting some new car for my wheels!) its started to happen more often and is playing on my mind, concentration and figuring stuff out (say a plan of action) has been off too.
Am I just tired or could it be something?
43 and fit as a fiddle otherwise.

I've recently noticed a similar thing myself with numbers, I'll look at it and then write it down the wrong way round, not all the time but a noticeable amount which I've thought is unusual as I'm very sharp with numbers generally and used to have a real good memory for them and I'm only 29!
I'm a similar age and I do similar silly things. I have a habit of saying for example £100,000 when I mean £200,000. I do it quite often. I also do the mix up words thing as you describe sometimes. Do you have kids? I put it down to having 2 million, er I mean a million things on my mind at once.

Hard to know what's unusual and what's just terrible spelling. Was watching 'winterwatch' this evening and the presenter Chris Packham seemed to get a few words mixed up - OK, it was a live recording, but seemed a few too many mistakes.
I get a few words the wrong way round too, it's when I'm not thinking/concentrating about what I'm saying/writing.
Sometimes, when I'm typing a comment on the laptop - the computer is a bit slower to pick up on the key strokes too

I do something similar while writing down an address for example though that normally equates to writing letters the wrong way round rather than whole words. I do live near Wales so to the Welsh it would probably make sense.
I also sometimes have a complete brain fart and not know how to spell the simplest of words!

word transposition is actually quite common and need not be indicative of any underlying problem at all. fatigue, stress etc is the most likely explanation. however, it does occur in anxiety states and, sometimes, depression, as a result of passive attention being disrupted by ruminant, intrusive thoughts.
a disruption of internal speech (that bit where we subconsciously rehearse what we're going to say), a failure of passive rumination (concentration basically), attempts to simultaneously introspect (think about stuff, commit to memory) and actively interact etc could all be contributory.
not to be confused with expressive dysphasia or word finding. this is almost always going to be neurological and needs investigation
