Good evening,

I'm in the process of fitting a HS2 SU to my three wheeler. I've had a few cars with SU carbs and was happily sorting my linkages for throttle and choke when I came across this - The choke connection wants to be pulled 'down'. So when looking at the carb from the side, the choke moves as per usual in a clockwise motion, but the connection for the cable is at the top right rather than bottom left. I've attached a picture.

I'm sure that on SUs i've used before the choke goes through the fitting next to the dash pot and pulls upwards. I've had a look but can't see how I can rotate the plate by 180 degrees so the cable fitting is in the correct place, especially since the plate has a cam on for a quicker idle when the choke is operated.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Phil

Try Burlen. They are the SU people. I would spot weld an arm on the present one to get what you need.

SU carbs were fitted to so many cars that the variations are huge. This one is probably one that uses a plate between the carb and manifold for the outer cable to locate in.
