Does such a thing exist after you've left school?

Before I make my next move I want to discuss my options and future career direction. I've spoken to recruiters in the past about a move out of the sector I work in (without changing role) but because of their focus they can't / won't look outside.

So, a more fundamental change would be lost on them. Ditto also current / past colleagues. While they may be willing to help I'm not sure they'd have the knowledge or advice I need.

FWIW I'm currently in FMCG Sales.

Career Counselling definitely exists. I was trained up by a previous employer who needed to downsize by 200+ jobs (10%+) and hugely enjoyed facilitating people to explore how transferable their skills really were. It enabled many of them to completely switch career direction, and seemed particularly effective for people under forty wanting fresh training and over forties wanting to access new professions and jump straight in.
