A4 2.0tdi Ultra Sport STronic or Passat 2.0tdi R Line dsg

Hi all,

I have option of the following 2 company cars and would like to hear from anyone that has made this choice or has either one and what your thoughts are..

A4 Diesel Saloon 2.0 Tdi Ultra Sport 4dr S Tronic
Or
VW Passat Diesel Saloon 2.0 Tdi R Line 4dr Dsg

Both will be the 150 model.

How about trying both and getting which one you prefer? To be honest I'd expect the A4 to be considerably better being a brand new model, the Passat being a facelift of a fairly old one.

The VW will likely be better spec'd, the A4 Sports are missing a few things that were standard on the old model

The Passat will have a 'digi dash' for starters (if this floats your boat) but also has halogen headlights! Swings in roundabouts..

I would personally go for the Passat. Unless you have an s line the A4 is a pretty sorry thing to look at and is pretty basic and lacking inside (the cloth looks naff). A Passat r line will have lots of toys and have much nicer seats etc

I read the OP's post twice and could have sworn it said S-Line. In that case, no contest, just also spec the LED or LED Premium headlights and personally I'd go for Tungsten Silver.

Only reason I can think of to go Passat is the Adaptive cruise control which works very nicely with the DSG. Other than that the A4 is the newer and better car. They made tons of new technology debuts with the latest A4 whereas the Passat is just a bigger version of the mk7 Golf

Agree the exterior of the A4 is basic but other than the cloth the interior spec is good.
