I couldn't help but notice that Gary's posts have been thin on the ground recently, and I just wondered if he has been told to avoid forums in the lead up to the election?

I mean, one minute he holds the world record, and the next...............virtually nothing!

We emailed each other. It's partly because some PHers comments are somewhat less than constructive (hence Ted's new sticky on SP&L?). Shame really, he's quite a character (and a serving BiB - gold dust).

Hi Streety.
Well I for one totally value your posts mate, as well as the other posting BiB
I dont always agree with your point of view, but surely thats what makes us all individuals, and this forum valuable. Where else could I get an understanding of the BiB point of view?
Just ignore the few winder uppers. Totally unecessary, even if they have had bad experiences with the Police.

Looks like the apologies are all mine (judging by the date of the thread), but I was sure it was not there a few weeks ago.

Either way, nice to see you haven't left us Gary. As blademan says: 'ignore the winder uppers', hopefully they'll go away.

OK, if that's what you want.

Best wishes to everyone all the same,
Dave.

The Ted Sticky wasn't there and has been missing for some months...only reinstated recently. Thanks to Ted.

Although I haven't posted much over the last fortnight and only visited to read the threads a couple of times....Pistonheads is still a good place to visit and I learn lots from it.

I may not always agree with Streetcop - but judging from some of posts, he exercises his discretion before ticketing and thinks about what he he is doing. And when you are about to be on the receiving end of a ticket that makes an important difference to your future behaviour.

So come back Streetcop - I respect you and your posts.

Here in New Zealand - pulled for exceeding limit by 10kmh and instant ticket - no discretion, irrespective of circumstances - you certainly lose the respect for a law than.

Yep, would agree to all of the above.

One of the reasons PH is such a good forum is because of people like SC. It helps to get other opinions than those you hear down at the pub with your mates!

Also, PH in general seems to be a bit of a cut above some other forums I've seen; most of the people who contribute here seem to be pretty rational, intelligent and interesting - to read such for me is the point of visiting.

One of the things that SC seems to do is reply to a lot of questions posed by people who are genuinely interested in how the police cope with some of the crackpot rules....

If people like SC are driven off as a result of people being abusive rather than just disagreeing, then it will also have the effect of lowering the quality of PH; those who have something constructive to say will go elsewhere....

just my two pennies worth.

Better to be in a hug you didn't start, than left out of one you did - Streaky (wearing one of Confucius' old hats)
