What's the perfect family based, 3 car garage?
Discussion
I've been teasing myself with this over the last few months and can't really settle on a clear answer, so thought I'd throw it over to the PH massive to get other opinions.
Scenario - Any 3 cars with a total budget of less than £100K (preferably a lot less). Can be new or used. To accommodate family needs of 2 kids and 2 adults.
Today as the wind blows I'm currently leaning towards:
997 C2S (manual) for my daily drive and a bit of fun.
Golf R (probably leased) for wife and daily round town duties.
VW T5 Camper for weekend excursions and load lugging.
Over to you guys!

I suppose it depends very much on the family, but for us, it would be:
MB R63 AMG. (Family wagon / her car)
MB C63 AMG. (With the NA 6.2l V8, my car)
Morgan Three Wheeler. (My toy)
Or with a slightly more sensible and realistic head on, based on potential near future business changes:
VW Transporter Crew Cab LWB. (Family/hers)
VW Amarok Crew Cab. (Mine)
Canyon Endurace CF SLX Disc 9.0 (OK it's a push bike, but it would actually get used, whereas a track / toy car simply wouldn't.)

We had a nice "family" garage though for us the kids are a cocker spaniel and a lab.
Family:
Mercedes E350 Estate - good diesel dog-mobile. Huge space for transporting logs, costco runs, or whatever. Comfy for long drives
Run About:
Abarth 595 - not boring, can always find a parking space, good for small country roads, decent mpg
Fun:
Porsche 996 Turbo - just exciting enough & relatively affordable

We have a 3 car garage to cater for us and 2 kids
1. Skoda Octavia Scout 184 DSG excellent family wagon comfy, plenty of space, quite economical fastish bought new October 16 for £23.5k (list £32k I did an ok deal
)
2. Lotus Evora S Sports Racer - my daily driver (sort of, I work from home or use the train). It can seat small folk in the back if required. Bought used in December for under £45k
3. 2001 Skoda Fabia. Used for station runs and by Blue junior when he is home from Uni. Ideal for teaching kids to drive, big enough to take junior and 3 mates touring across Europe. Cots £1500 worth about £600 now. Mechanically great, visually - has seen better days
In previous iterations the Octavia has been a Subaru Outback and an Audi A6

I'm pretty happy with my family-friendly three car garage:
Alfa Romeo Guilietta 1.4 multi-air 170PS - station car
Volvo XC90 - "mumbus-2000"
Ferrari 612 Scaglietti - fun
the only trouble i see with a three car garage is the scientifically proven fact that the ideal number of cars is N+1....

Audi Q7 S Line Plus - main family car with plenty of space and toys
Civic Type R EP3 Premier Edition - runaround, supermarket run, odd track day
9972S - manual weekend / special fun car.
If I won the lotto and the kids grow up so no longer need space for prams etc, I would change the Q7 for a Macan GTS and 997 for a 991.2 GT3.
