Officially, The best car ever !
Discussion
I came across an interview with PetrolTed - who started Pistonheads way back in the day.
Guess what his favourite car was?
Yes, a TVR S !
"What is the best car you have ever owned?...and the worst?
My lovely old TVR S4 was the best – it was that car which led me into the whole TVR scene and spurred me on to start PH. I owned it for about five years and covered 75,000 miles in it all over the country to race events and various meets.
It wasn’t that fast but it felt quick enough and it had loads of character. The worst car I owned was a Mk1 Ford Fiesta XR2. It had bad torque steer but still felt underpowered, and it was incredibly plasticky and generally a bit naff."

I am amazed how unappreciated these cars are!!
Having bought and sold many British 'classics', also those unappreciated classics from the German 'Pork' marque, I am sure that these S series cars will be valued properly before long!
How a well restored V6 S can be worth less than £10k is ridiculous but the market seems to say otherwise. Maybe all the posts about chassis rot, etc., etc., on PH, available to all to view, has driven the market elsewhere?

Exactly. Interesting your comment re Chassis rot and how it may affect peoples view on them, I am aware of a reverse scenario of that where many people think a particular vehicle doesn't rot, namely an old Land Rover. Over the years I have read many comments about them being made of aluminium and not rotting which is totally untrue - the bulkhead and ladder chassis can both be a can of worms but the rest of the body fantastic.Having bought and sold many British 'classics', also those unappreciated classics from the German 'Pork' marque, I am sure that these S series cars will be valued properly before long!

Indeed! The early British classics are reknowned for being prone to rust from the chassis up and some were delivered 'with rust' from the factory including those marques from BL, Ford, and others that are now seeing high values. Hopefully with the new TVR being released soon, these cars will be seen as part of the great British motoring history and appreciated as such??I know as I have a '59er....
: had a passenger ride around Bedford Autodrome in Petrol Ted's Porsche GT3.....seems he goes a bit quicker these days.
He clocked 147 mph before braking for the main straight chicane.....best I could do (5litre Chimaera) was 135, and I then couldn't quite get it stopped in time for the chicane

Definitely one careful lady owner
.....Plus a few dodgy harum-scarum characters...
Mr. Plow.... Stone Cold.... and Gareth Southgate's stunt double who was ironically well into fancying VX220s!
He even bought the T-shirt!

Never raced or rallied. Dry summer use only...
