Cant comment on whether it will fit or not..I'm sure DJM could adapt anything you could ever want though

Or although nothing Italian, this is a UK company doing other conversions

There's no way it'll bolt up - the bellhousing patterns are completely different. Here's the best shot I've got of the back of a 3200 engine (that I prepared earlier)...

And here's a pic from a recent Gransport clutch change (same engine as a 4200):

Are you planning to use the 4200 motronic? If your engine is from a cambiocorsa car then you'll need to spoof the startup signal from the TCU (as well as the one from the alarm module).
What's your wheelbase? You might be better off buying an complete 4200 manual car and using the entire drivetrain (assuming you have space for the transaxle at the back).
Sounds like an awesome project - got any pics?

Hi Thanks, and also for the very good pics, I am hoping someone can or will have made an adapter plate to mate the two together, on the Engine I will do away with all the intake system and run old fashioned Throttle Bodies with some nice ram pipes, and use a Megasquirt 3 ECU to run the Ign , Injs and VVT so should be able to get at least 450 BHP out of it ???, yes I was originally going to use the 4200 Suspension/Sub-frames and all brakes but between the Borrani wheels haveing the outside offset and trans-axle I could not achieve anything close to the Track that is needed, so as of today I am thinking of using all the suspension from a Ferrari 308 GTB which I can fit correct size 15 inch wheels ?? let me know what you think, Regards DM
Hi,
did this project ever go anywhere?
I have a half-a-plan to transplant the 4200 drive train into something custom too. If I can line a few things up, and find a CAT'd 4200 or one with rubbish bodywork or interior, it might be viable.
I'd be attempting to use the ME442 for the job, controls VVT, 8 cylinders, and far fewer donor car electrical foibles.
