Nothing too bad Alun
Fired it up today and a minimum of 2 lifters were very slow at pumping up (10 mins)
The gauge is showing 50-60 psi on cold oil but will drop to 5 on hot tickover
So I think am looking at worn or f
ked pump
What oil did you use? And have you checked the pressure against a differ the gauge?Fired it up today and a minimum of 2 lifters were very slow at pumping up (10 mins)

Might be worth simply asking if it's a standard P38 Range Rover part.....in which case Rimmers?
Is this the one ?http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID800010

I recently bought mine from powers as I wanted a good quality one and not a pattern part of which there are many around.
I may have done if I had if I had something other than a boggo / easily replaceable 3.9. I haven't carried out a thorough forensic test on said part yet, but it looks decent quality and it is better nick than the shagged orginal
I'll be interested to see if you get much of a pressure difference.
Mine with new gears didn't change much.
Still,10-12 psi at idle and hot engine.
Showing as low as 5 psi on the Tvr gauge when everything's very hot but that's just the gauge and heat related issues as it's usually higher than the gauge suggests.
I borrowed a mech gauge, it's all expense but I'd like to buy one some day as it's the only way to really be sure.
The Tvr gauge is consistent in its inconsistency,, so by getting a good feel for the pressures using a more reliable gauge at different temperatures etc I then trusted my Tvr gauge completely,,, until I changed sender that is
The oil constantly changes pressure and pretty quickly dependant on engine revs according to the mech gauge.
It stands to reason that the oil when hot will travel faster through the oil galleries so pressure may be slightly lower but flows greater.
I think it's why I have good oil pressure instantly when cold but still hear the odd follower clatter for a second or two, cold heavy oil, pressure yes but slow flow!
Probably total b
ks but hey that's my theory

Alun, I bought one of these for that very reason.
Cheap as chips and works fine for the once in a blue moon test.
