I've got a buyer for a set of car tyres but need a courier. I was going to wrap them in polythene sheet/packing tape and send them individally; I have a Myhermes account and a single tyre is under their 15kg weight limit so I could arrange four separate collections... but if they turn up with a car they could be stuck, and if they go in separate vehicles one migt get lost.

Can anyone recommend a courier who can take four loose car tyres from Essex to Yorkshire as a one-off job please?

Promising, thanks. There's nowhere to say 'four separate tyres' so the quotes will be for one tyre but hopefully we can take it from there.

Why not do as mytyres do, band two tyres together and get round the min weight limit? Though last time I bought from them DPD did manage to make two separate deliveries, also not helped by them, DPD, getting mixed up on addresses and sending me a "You were out" message complete with a photo of some stranger's front door.

With Myhermes 15kg is max not min.

Shiply prices coming in (for ONE tyre) - £88 and £102!

Use interparcel and book with UPS

Strap a pair together, put the overall dimesnsions in and off to go.

Usually it's about £12-£15 per pair

Interparcel was about £36 but 'Up To 4 x 17" Tyres Only £29.99 inc. vat' looks good, thanks!

Now the buyer has vanished, doh... but I'm ready for the next one.

I use p4d.co.uk/tyres

£10 each for 2 huge winter 295 width R8 V10 tyres. (Was cheaper as 2 separate parcels) You just have to wrap them in plastic bin bags and parcel tape.

Persist with Shiply - I've had a set of 4 wheels and tyres delivered for £35 before.

It just depends on someone having a route that vaguely matches your needs.
