So I e bled my reverb stealth and topped up the air pressure to 250psi, but there is still some up and down play on the post about 3-5mm.

How much play is a warranty return for these unreliable seatposts ?

I had about 10mm before sending mine back. If you're in warranty I'd try to return it, it's only going to get worse.

Where are people sending them back, to retailer you bought from or a direct address? Also returning the whole thing remote and hose or just the post, mine has play but was a complete bh to thread internally don't really want to remove the hose.

My LBS is saying not much point rebuilding them - costs a little more to have a Fox Transfer post instead?

Was (is) there a design fault with these?

Mine developed about 25mm play seemingly overnight after 12 months - sent it back, no questions asked and a new boxed item returned.

A lot of the problems were meant to be solved by the 2016 update (B1), which sort of seems to be the case in some areas but others not. I've had my B1 develop play and it was replaced without quibble.

Im my case the bike shop sent it and I just paid for the courier.

That's interesting to hear.

Must admit when mine came back (around April last year) I just took it out the box and fitted it. How can you tell if its a B1 update?

I had an 'A' model (2014-16) which was replaced with a B1 (2016 onwards) when it went for its warranty. Ironically that A didn't go in for the 5mm droop like the B's seem to regularly go in for, it went it because the coating started to come off (I'd had two years constantly daily use out of it!).

To tell, the B's have goldy/brown ROCK SHOX branding near the top below the clamp and the A's don't. This graphic does it better than me at explaining...

Basically anything warrantied from roughly Spring time 2016 will almost certainly have been replaced with the new model.

Many Thanks Andy! (sorry I probably being a bit lazy there)

Just checked mine does have the gold logo.

Actually put me off putting another one on one of my other bikes - I was only using it 3 or 4 times out on a trail per ride so went off the idea.

The sag is a result of pressurised air leaking past the seals into the oil side of the piston (which supports your weight). Bleeding the remote will have no effect as the remote is effectively a separate circuit. It has been said that lifting the bike by the saddle with the post in a down position so that the post extends can cause this.

If you have the skills to service suspension forks, then a basic Reverb service will fix this together with a small investment in the required tools. There are SRAM videos that show what to do.

A word of warning in that because the oil in the piston is now pressurised with the air it can go 'pop' like a bottle of champagne when disassembled. Hence SRAM do not advise home service if you have that fault.

However I did mine 18 months ago and it has remained solid since (2012 model).
