Nerves playing up again...
Discussion
OK, next injury has flared up. Weird one.
I get a burning/painful tingle in my right ankle (medial side) that only happens when I bend forward (i.e. torso at right angle to legs) and my right leg is straight. There is no pain anywhere else, it is just this 1-2" spot below the ankle bone.
Clearly a nerve issue, I assume sciatic nerve trapped in the base of the spine or glute area but I have no muscular injuries or remember doing anything that would have caused it. It started last week and I've tried nerve mobilisation (legs bent, chin tucked in, bend forward then slowly straighten legs) and it bloody hurts.
I can run, jump, squat, anything without any issues, but doing up my shoes....I have to remember to keep my right leg bent.
If I keep trying to mobilise it, will I cause any damage?

The advice from the docs is to keep moving, whether or not the nerve mobilisation exercises do anything is debatable, been there and done it.
Google the nerve diagrams, these show you which disc is pressing on the nerve with corresponding area of pain ( if this is the case)
Since it came on suddenly I'd say it will disappear as quickly, if it starts to linger consider buying an inversion table and build strength in your lower back with specific exercises, I do this and I believe it saved me from having surgery.
Keep moving but at an easier pace.
Do you train with weights ?

Thanks, yes I do weight training and have been doing a lot of squatting in recent weeks but have not noticed any back pain at all. I figured I have caused some kind of injury but without symptoms there I'm struggling to link it back to anything.
I'll check out the nerve diagram, I can't seem to find any specific examples of my symptoms online though.
