Can a Diesel Re-Map Result in Injection pump fail/leak

As the title really, can a Re-map cause excessive stress/pressure on a HP Diesel Injection Pump?

Reason I ask, I've had my Vito pushed to approx. 190hp and within a day, the Injection pump started to leak.

Now I have a sh#t of job fixing it.

No, but it may highlight weaknesses in the system as you are generally asking for more fuel / boost.
