Porsche Centre Portsmouth - servicing
Discussion
Hi all, does anyone have experience of using Porsche Centre Portsmouth for servicing? Our BGTS is shortly due for its first service and would appreciate any feedback. We've used Swindon with our previous Porsche's in recent years but Swindon is 60 miles away and Portsmouth 3 miles from where I work. Many thanks!

My neighbour used them for his Macan and was happy with them. Will have the same sort of decision to make for myself in about 6 months when mine needs its first service.rob200 said:
Another positive vote for them: been using them for the last 4 years for servicing and a couple of minor warranty issues and they've always been excellent. Have been able to borrow some nice loan cars too!
Thank you rob200 - Swindon have always been a bit stingey when it comes to loan cars, either base Boxster or BMW 3 series. Be interesting to see what I'm offered. Will pop in on Friday after work and have a chat. Thanks all - visited today, Rob White their service advisor very helpful, better informed than service advisor at Swindon, and car duly booked in for service. Discussed the Real Time Traffic Information upgrade, offered a good discount for it. Much better choice of loan cars than Swindon which is a bonus!

The only place I have taken the car and not been told I need new windscreen wipers and brake pads. But on a negative side they did mess up on a simple job, but did put things right straight away and had a free service thrown in as an apology. I will still use them in future as their custom care does seem ok .

What put me off Swindon this time was being told by their service advisor Eoin that I need to spend an additional £130 for air conditioning service including drain & regass, complete nonsense as that is only necessary if the system is no longer refrigerating. When I challenged this I was advised that "Porsche recommend also recommends an air con clean annually" - don't see that either as the service schedule is only every two years. Ironically I had a flyer from sister garage Tewkesbury offering the air con clean for £50 and the full service if the air con is no longer working efficiently. Was the guy at Swindon trying to leg me over or simply not competent?
Another positive feedback for OPC Portsmouth. Professional and fault free. Everything is done by the book. Sometimes when I go in to ask super techy questions, they don't know the answer off the bat, but for following the script and doing everything as Porsche want them to it is the quality of service you expect.
Thank you SimonOcean - I must admit I shunned Inchcape owned car dealerships having had a major falling out 6 years ago with Porsche Bournemouth - it subsequently cost them two sales and me a120 mile round trip to Swindon! So I'll give them another chance with servicing now. (In fairness Bournemouth servicing was always good). First impressions have been positive with Portsmouth backed up with recommendations on this forum.
