Trying to pay off my £6k+ of credit cards today.

After calling my credit card company, my card is declined for the full amount.
Weird. The money is in my account.

Call my bank, there's a £2k per transaction limit.

Call back to my credit card, £1900 through first time, second time, declined!!?

Call back to my bank, oh, you can only pay £2k PER DAY

WHAT THE fk

It's MY card and money and they are telling me what I can/can't do with it.

W@nkers.

Rant over.

Can you not do it as a bill payment via online banking?

It's the banks card. In most cases the bank is liable for fraudulent use of the card so they are perfectly entitled to impose restrictions.

If you check your credit card statement you will find that there are a number of different ways to pay it. The easiest has already been pointed out above.

I did that for the Barclaycard in the end.

Then I got a text from NATWEST saying they've notice transactions

£4600 Barclaycard (one of my cards)
£1900
£1900

all declined, to reply Y for yes, or N for no.

I replied Y.... phoned up my second credit card (RBS).. paid the £2100 or whatever off...

So it was Natwest?

I am confused, I phoned Natwest TWICE and they said it was Visa blocking them, but the texts seem to imply it's Natwest?

At least they're all closed off now and I am credit card free..
