parked my van in ken,s utopian dream today on a meter, put enough in for 1 hour, job took a little longer so poped out and put another hour on it (max stay 2 hours)
returned 1/2 hour later to find a ticket, says i had "fed the meter"
reading small print on meter it is mentioned......but the location given was a street several miles away.
will i get away with it as location is wrong the bstards get me?

The ticket was for the wrong street or the sign on the metre said that feeding the metre several miles away was wrong?

Either way - sounds like you might make headway

'feeding the meter'

So, let me get this right - you pull up, stick 50p in, and come back x minutes later to put more money in (up to the limit), because your business is taking longer than you anticipated.

You get fined because of this.

On the other hand, if you pull up, stick the maximum allowed in, and stay up to the limit, thats ok, even though they've collected the same funds?

Now call me stupid, but isn't that just the same as machines not issuing change - ie make more money? Really, what difference does it make to the flow of traffic when you 'feed the meter'?

I always like the fees they charge.

things like 35p or 65p or 85p - no change given!

the only place I've known to be fair is the city of York, where the meters give you the time you've paid for. eg if it's 60p for an hour and you put a pound in, you get 1 hour 40 minutes.

agree bout the feeding bit being sdupid,it was parken in
one street but location given was another street aprox 2 miles away.
thing is as a matter of principle i have never paid a ticket in my life, allways fought them and won, dont want to give in to them after all these years.
